Pittsville………Jackie Mitchell "Mitch" Waters, age 75 of Pittsville passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at Liberty Ridge of Lynchburg.

Born February 23, 1951 in Macon County, NC, he was a son of the late Jacob Astor "Buster" Waters and Eva Tallent Waters.  He was predeceased by a son, Aaron Matthew Waters; and a brother, Daryl "Doc" Waters.  Mr. Waters was a member of Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church and he retired from Klopman Mills.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding around talking to people.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Hammock Waters of the residence; one son, Brian Waters of Pittsville; one brother, Richard Waters and wife, Debra of Blairs; two sisters, Geneatta Shelton and husband, Joe of Pittsville and Kathy Shields and husband, Steve of Pittsville; two grandchildren, Lauren Waters and Tristen Waters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastor Thomas Lee and Rev. Jason Andrews.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times will be at the residence.
