Hurt...........Mildred Davis Moon, age 82 of 4008 Wards Road, Hurt died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born March 4, 1929 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Davis and Dolly King Davis. She was predeceased by her husband, John Bunyan Moon, Jr.; and a daughter, Barbara Jean Moon. She was a member of Edge Hill Baptist Church and was a home maker. Mrs. Moon enjoyed flowers, gardening, and her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Dwayne Moon of Hurt, and John B. Moon III and his wife, Wanda of Long Island; a daughter, Carolyn Moon Rice of Hurt; a brother, Curtis Davis of Gladys; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 P.M. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Edge Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Chris Brooks. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, and other times will be at the residence.
