Hurt……..Mildred "Millie" Moorefield Midkiff, age 88 of Hurt died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
Born June 6, 1929 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late George Talmadge Moorefield and Mattie Haynes Moorefield. She was predeceased by her husband, William L. Midkiff; a son, Bill Midkiff; and three sisters, Lena Wooldridge, Hazel Eades and Opal Saunders. Mrs. Midkiff attended the Primitive Baptist Church and was a home maker. She loved watching UVA football and basketball games and was very proud of her granddaughter and grandson.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Hall of Hurt; one brother, Charlie Onyx Moorefield of Ocoee, FL; one sister, Eula Dillon of Hurt; and one granddaughter, Dr. Julie Hall of San Francisco, CA and one grandson, Josh Midkiff and wife, Jennine of Madison Heights.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Elder Raymond Goad and Elder Marvin Brumfield. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Janet Hall, 6320 Blue Ridge Drive, Hurt.
