Mildred Brown McCulock

Gretna…..Mildred Brown McCulock, age 89 of Gretna, died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Autumn Care of Altavista.
Born February 18, 1927 in Danville she was a daughter of the late William Perry Riddle and Daisy Eva Mays Riddle. She was twice married first to the late William (Billy) Brown and then to the late Bailey McCulock. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Mrs. McCulock was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church and was a retired employee of Bassett-Walker. She enjoyed puzzles, Yatzy, all card games including Rook and Rummy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for other people.
She is survived by three daughters, Edith Norkett and husband, Billy Ray of Harmony, NC, Patsy Roach of Hurt, and Carolyn Simpson and husband, Ronnie of Gretna; two step-daughters, Belinda Harvey and husband, Jeff and Patricia Vaughan; one brother, Wade Riddle and wife, Betty of Chatham; two sisters, Thelma Waller of Chatham and Judy Osborne of NC; five grandchildren, Ricky Norkett and wife, Carolyn, Wanda Hall, Wayne Roach, Jr. and wife, Annette, Christy Craft and husband, David and Lonnie Simpson and wife, Emma; four step-grandchildren, Dillon Harvey, Laura Briceland, Brandon Emerson, and Bailey Vaughan, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Ronnie Simpson. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Ronnie Simpson.
