Chatham……….Mildred Lovelace Brooks, age 78 of Chatham died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born March 4, 1935 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Lewis Thomas Lovelace and Doris Pickeral Lovelace. She was predeceased by her husband, William (Billy) McKinley Brooks; and two brothers, Gerald Lovelace, Sr. and Donald Lovelace. Mrs. Brooks was the co-owner/operator of Billy's Restaurant. She enjoyed flowers, hummingbirds and animals.
She is survived by one son, Tim Doss of Chatham; one daughter, Tammy Doss Boardwine of Chatham; two sisters, Catherine Forte, and Patsy Kirkey; three grandchildren, Alan Donald Boardwine, Kim Jackson, and Mary Jackson.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Tammy Doss Boardwine, 1149 Gandy Road, Chatham.
