Hurt……Michael Ray "Mike" Weeks, age 73 of Hurt died Monday, January 23, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born July 15, 1949 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Walter Edward Weeks and Ida Worley Weeks.  He was predeceased by his wife, Janet King Weeks; two sons, Jeremy Weeks and Glenn Shelton; and two brothers, Roger Weeks and Thurman Weeks.  Mike loved his grandchildren; and he enjoyed riding four-wheelers with his son, Joe, cutting grass and helping others.  Mike also enjoyed Sunday visits and phone calls from his grandson, James Paul.

He is survived by one son, Jonathon "Joe" Weeks and wife, Sandy of Rustburg; two daughters, Angie Russell and husband, Greg of Altavista and Kim Shelton of Hurt; one brother, Gary Weeks and wife, Kathy of Raleigh, NC; four sisters, Ann W. Andrews of Altavista, Faye W. Farmer of Hurt, Mary W. Dalton of Hurt and Dale W. Moorefield and husband, Kenneth of Hurt; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many devoted nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at New Prospect Baptist Church by Rev. Brady Willis.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at New Prospect Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence.
