Hurt……….Michael Lawrence Rice, age 63 of Hurt died Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his residence.

Born April 21, 1960 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late John Howard Rice and Pauline Keatts Johnson. Mr. Rice retired from Moore's Electric, enjoyed watching muscle car shows and loved his dog, "Buddy."

He is survived by one son, Derrick Rice of Hurt; two sisters, Florence Brummett and husband, Larry of Lynch Station, Molly Clingempeel and husband, Norman of Monroe; two brothers, Leffie Rice and, wife Patricia of Evington and Timothy Rice and wife, Vicky of Altavista; four grandchildren, Michael Rice, Claire Rice, Josh Rice and Gabe Rice; and one great-grandchild, Ivy Jade Rice.

Memorial services will be conducted from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the Altavista YMCA Multipurpose Room.
