Sandy Level……….Michael Wayne Barbour, age 34 of Sandy Level died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 as the result of an automobile accident.
Born August 20, 1978 in Danville he was a son of Ben Barbour of Pittsville and Elsie Faye Dalton Shelton of Gretna. He was predeceased by a sister, Christine Marie Barbour. Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, car racing, and shooting pool. He was an employee at Food Lion.
In addition to his parents he is survived by one son, Michael Dudley Barbour of Gretna; one daughter Courtney Leanne Barbour of Gretna; his fiancée, Sarah Lawhorn of Nathalie; his maternal grandmother, Ruby Dix and her husband, William of Ringgold; one brother, Danny Pulliam of Ringgold; two step-brothers, Ronnie Shelton of Rocky Mount, and Wesley Shelton, Jr. of Gretna; and two step-sisters, Nicky Ashby of Hurt, and Haley Shelton of Gretna; two half-sisters, April Rudder of Ringgold and Jeanie Pulliam of Ringgold; one half-brother, Ronnie Pulliam of Ringgold; his step-father, Wesley Shelton of Gretna.
Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery by Rev. Lynn Marstin.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his mother, Elsie Faye Dalton Shelton, 10421 Chalk Level Road, Gretna, and at the residence of his son and daughter, Michael Barbour and Courtney Barbour, 1901 Pittsville Road, Gretna.
