Gretna…..Mazie Osborne Beckham, age 95 of Gretna died, Friday, September 8, 2017 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab in Altavista.
Born September 26, 1921 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Henry Wade Osborne and Alease Adkins Osborne. Mrs. Beckham was predeceased by her husband, Clarence B. Beckham; two brothers, Archie Osborne and Marvin "Pete" Osborne; and three sisters, Alma Johnson, Hazel Hearl and Jean Godfrey. She was a former employee of Bendix Electronics and was a member of Payneton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Beckham was an avid reader.
She is survived by one son, Wesley Beckham of Baltimore, MD; one daughter, Shirley Tate of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Abe Osborne of Paint Lick, KY; one sister, Thelma Pippin of Gretna; two granddaughters, Angel Duckworth and Christine Beckham; two grandsons, Todd Tate and Tony Tate; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Harold Thornton. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and will be at the residence of her sister, Thelma Pippin from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017 and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017.
