Callands………Mary Helen Pacheco Yates, age 63 of Callands died Thursday, May 4, 2023 at her residence.

Born May 28, 1959 in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Pacheco and Emily Costa McCurry. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael McCurry. Mrs. Yates loved her job working in Animal Control for Pittsylvania County. She also loved her family and being outdoors.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Darrel Yates of the residence; one daughter, Amanda Yates of Callands; one brother, Robert Pacheco of Massachusetts; two sisters, Carol Souza of Maine and Ann McCurry of Virginia; and two grandchildren, Michaela Craddock and Noah Logwood.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by James Cole. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
