Dry Fork……….Mary Susan "Granny Sue" Gatliff Willis, age 81 of Dry Fork died Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Sovah Health Danville.

Born June 6, 1943 in Dayton, OH, she was a daughter of the late Carl Clyde Gatliff and Helen Dora Lybarger White.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Nathanel Willis; a grandson, Billy Hall; a son-in-law, Phillip Hylton; and three brothers, Gary Gatliff, Wayne Tackett and Ralph White.  Mrs. Willis was a retired seamstress with Healthtex, a Life Member of Chatham Rescue Squad and Charter Member of the Dry Fork Volunteer Fire Department.  She was a veteran of the U.S. Women's Army Corp. having served as a Specialist in the WAC Battalion for the Special Troops Battalion of the U.S. Army Armor Center at Fort Knox Kentucky.

She is survived by three daughters, Tracie Jackson and husband, Brydon of Fayetteville, NC, Brenda Hylton of Dry Fork and Bonnie Greene and husband, Terry of Danville; three sons, Randall Scott Fowlkes of Danville, Michael Fowlkes of Dry Fork and Jerry Fowlkes of Dry Fork; two sisters, Melissa Foreman of Brookville, OH and Catherine Hawk and husband, Jeff of Brookville, OH; one brother, Lewis White of New Jersey; 13 grandchildren; Brandon Fowlkes, Nathan Fowlkes and wife, Hannah, Lauren Fowlkes, Jeffrey Hall and wife, Christy, Brian Fowlkes, Corey Fowlkes, Aaron Fowlkes, Gavin Hylton and wife, Kaitlin, Skyler Key and husband, Tyler, Josh Fowlkes, Alex Cyrus and wife, Sage, Brydon Jackson and Reagan Jackson; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Dr. Henry M. Meadows, Jr.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter, Brenda Hylton.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Dry Fork Volunteer Fire Department, 4860 Dry Fork Road, Dry Fork, VA 24549.
