Gretna……….Mary Josephine "Mary Jo" Rorer, age 67 of Gretna died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at her residence.
Born July 5, 1948 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late William C. Elmo Rorer and Mary Elizabeth Turner Rorer. She was a member of Greenpond Baptist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed reading and watching T.V.
She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Weeks and her husband, Gary; three nephews, Troy Weeks and his wife, Annette, Todd Weeks and his wife, Nicole and Tim Weeks and his wife, Kristina; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Gary Barbour.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Greenpond Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Carlton and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Greenpond Baptist Church.
