Gretna…..Mary Mayhew Moss, age 57 of Gretna died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born May 20, 1954 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Anderson Mayhew and Hilma Haynes Mayhew. Mary was predeceased by two canine companions, Marcy and Nikki. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna and a member of the Care and Share at the church. She was a LPN at Gretna Health & Rehab and a member of the Gretna and Chatham Ruritan Clubs.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Moss of the residence; one son, Mark Moss and wife, Kim of Marion; a granddaughter, Rowan Moss of Marion; one brother, Mike Mayhew and wife, Linda of Palmyra; one sister, Martha Mitchell and husband, John of Richmond; a brother-in-law, Marvin Moss of Blairs; and her canine companion, Cindy.
A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Gretna by Rev. Jonathan Hilliard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service ( 1 to 2p.m.) Saturday, November 12 at the church and a reception will immediately follow the service in the First Baptist Church of Gretna fellowship hall.
