Mary Custer Moore

Gretna......Mary Custer Moore, age 95 of 4984 Rockford School Road, Gretna died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center.
Born March 24, 1915 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Dan Custer and Annie Gross Custer. Mrs. Moore was predeceased by her husband, Edward Wade Moore. She was a member of Greenpond Baptist Church. Mrs. Moore was a home maker, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and canning.
She is survived by one daughter, Eloise A. Scruggs of Gretna; three grandchildren, Kenneth L. Scruggs of Gretna, Keith Scruggs and wife, Lari of Gretna, and Pamela Rowland and husband, Owen of Gretna; one great-grandchild, Brandie Worsham and husband, Kevin of Gretna; two great-great-grandchildren, Kristen Worsham, and Darrien Worsham; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Greenpond Baptist Church by Rev. Steve Carlton. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 at the residence of her grandson, Keith and Lari Scruggs, 112 Knollwood Drive, Gretna, and other times will be the residence.
