Gretna…..Mary Jane Green Compton, age 74 of Gretna went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born May 12, 1945 in Danville, she was a daughter of the late John W. Green, Sr. and Sibyl Gregory Green.  She was predeceased by her husband, Lowell Don Compton; and two brothers, Ray Green and John W. Greene, Jr.  Mrs. Compton attended Greenfield Baptist Church and was a home maker.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Troy Compton of Gretna; one daughter, Patricia Neal and husband, Rex of Gretna; and five sisters, Gay Cornell, Eva Barker, Lora Blair, and Betty Myers all of North Carolina, and Roxie Burgess of Danville.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
