Evington…….Mary Jean Cope Cox, age 67 of Evington died Friday, June 3, 2022 at her residence.

Born March 18, 1955 in Gastonia, NC, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Cope and Elsie Webb Hodges.  She was predeceased by her husband, Travis Edward Cox, Sr.; and one son, Travis Edward "Scoots" Cox, Jr.  Mrs. Cox was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evington and she worked at Walmart.

She is survived by three daughters, Angela Cox (Lee Day) of Evington, Laura Ferguson of Rustburg, and Joyce "Sparky" Fuller of Rustburg; two sons, Billy Harper, and Basil Harper; six grandchildren, Dale Cox, Shannon Robertson, Haley Lord (Chris), Amber Triplett, Chasity Cox (David), and Teri Jennings (Taylor); five great-grandchildren, Oakley Robertson, Annabelle Cox, Lillian Triplett, Caroleena Holcomb, Layton Ann Lord; two more great-grandchildren on the way; a special caregiver, Rhonda Evans; and three fur babies, Spunky, Rebel, and Tipper.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Evington Cemetery by James McKinney.

The family will receive friends at the residence, 727 Pacoman Road, Evington.
