Fairfax……….Mary Helen "Big Mama" Love, age 79 of Fairfax died Friday, April 14, 2017 at Chatham Health and Rehab Center.
Born February 24, 1938 in Indian Valley she was a daughter of the late Arthur Nathan Phillips and Frances Maudie Phillips. She was predeceased by her husband, Sherral Garland Love; and a brother, J.B. Phillips. Mrs. Love was a member of Grove Avenue Christian Church in Richmond. She was a former travel agent in Richmond and a former employee of the Pittsylvania County School System. She enjoyed knitting, watching Jeopardy; and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip Love of Blairs and Tim Love and wife, Vickie of Blairs; two daughters, Annette McCormick and husband, Jim of Fairfax and Marcia Francis and husband, Chris of Gretna; one sister, Brenda Witt of Hardy; seven grandchildren, Nathan Love and wife, Emily, Cheryl Cockram and husband, Dustin, Victoria Hughes and husband, Bruce, Steven Crews and wife, Rachel, April Love and fiancé, Kevin, Jamie McCormick and Nikki McCormick and one great-grandchild, Nate Love.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Oakland United Methodist Church, 180 Snakepath Road, Blairs, VA by Pastor Jon Woodburn.
The family will receive friends Saturday April 22, 2017 in the church fellowship hall of Oakland United Methodist Church following the memorial service and other times will be at the residence of her son-and daughter-in-law, Tim and Vickie Love, 1505 David Giles Lane, Blairs
The family suggests memorial be made to the American Cancer Association.
