Mary Wilkes Barbour

Cincinnati, OH…….Mary Wilkes Barbour, age 77 of Cincinnati, OH died Friday, February 24, 2012 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.
Born December 11, 1934 in the Sandy Level community of Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter the late Victor Lawrence Wilkes and Grace Clark English Wilkes. She was predeceased by an infant son, Allen Ray Barbour; two sisters, and six brothers, Lucille Dixon, Doris Aultice, Robert Wilkes, Lawrence Wilkes, Willie Wilkes, Thomas Wilkes, J.D. Wilkes, and Ray Wilkes. Mrs. Barbour was a Charter member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and was a home maker. She was a graduate of Climax High School, enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Artis Ray Barbour of the residence; one son, A. Randy Barbour of the residence; two daughters, Deborah (Steven) Nanni of Aurora, IN and Patty Barbour of Owensboro, KY; one brother, Walter Wilkes of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Danielle (Richie) Baker of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Christa (Jake) Clark of Greendale, IN; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Baker and Kaitlyn Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Kendall Smith. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, and other times will be at the residence of her sister-in-law, Clella Proctor, 2124 West Gretna Road, Gretna.
