Gretna……….Marvin Aaron Giles, age 77 of 2133 Taylors Mill Road, Gretna died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born April 1, 1934 in Nottoway County, he was a son of the late Thomas Hugh Giles and Brazie Taylor Giles. He was predeceased by one daughter, Deena Melissa Giles; one brother, Cornelius Giles; and four sisters, Gracie Scott, Elsie Scott, Essie Giles, and Louise Mayhew. Mr. Giles was an employee of Klopman for 47 years, and a member of Springfield Primitive Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and working in the yard.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Arleen Jeanette Moser Giles of the residence; one son, Douglas Troy Giles of Gretna; one brother, Anderson Giles of Lynch Station; and one grandson, Ricky Lee Giles of Gretna.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Elder Marvin Brumfield and Elder Raymond Goad. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, September 19, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
