Gretna……….Martin Joseph Sardella, age 91 of Gretna passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Piney Forest Health and Rehab of Danville.

Mr. Sardella was born December 18, 1934 in New Jersey.  He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Hunt Vasser Sardella.  Mr. Sardella was a National Guard veteran and was a firefighter with the Picatinny Arsenal for 30 years.  He was passionate about fishing and enjoyed  hunting.  He also enjoyed spending time outdoors in his fruit orchard, where he had over 200 fruit trees planted.

He is survived by a stepdaughter, Rita Montgomery and husband, Todd of Cascade; three grandchildren, Samuel Montgomery, Shannon Richardson and husband, David III and Carrie Barker; and two great-grandchildren, Trista Richardson and Anthony Richardson.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
