Hurt……...Martha Jean Hines, age 62 of Hurt died Saturday, May 13, 2023 at her residence.

Born April 22, 1961 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of Maurice Ramsey Hines and Peggy Jean Shull Hines of Hurt. Martha was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. "She knew the beauty of the roses and the fury of the thorn. All of the joys and sorrows she felt ever so deeply. Rest sweetly our dear daughter and sister."

In addition to her parents, she is survived by three brothers, John Charles Hines and wife, Heather of Charlottesville, Daniel Glen Hines of Brights and Jerry Michael Hines of Hurt; one sister, Karen Hines Sherwood and husband, Al of Lynch Station; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023 at New Prospect Baptist Church Family Life Center by Pastor Josh Crews.
