Martha Adams Dalton age 93 died Monday, January 29, 2024 at Gretna Health and Rehabilitation.

Our beloved Mother was born April 15,1930 in Pittsylvania County. She was a daughter of the late Delmas Smith Adams and Ora Belle Short Adams. She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Harris Dalton, two brothers, Percy Adams and Wayne Adams, one sister Carol Meador, and two infant sisters. Mama was a homemaker as well as working several jobs over the years in the food service field. She was of the Baptist faith and always loved to attend church whenever she could. Mama was as sharp as a whip and loved watching game shows such as Jeopardy and answering many of the questions. She loved to watch baseball and was an avid reader. Mama was a great cook, being famous for her homemade biscuits and fried pies, keeping us all well fed. She loved and was loved by our late father Melvin Dalton, to whom she was married for 63 years. She is survived by two sons Michael Dalton of Gaston, SC, and Mark Dalton and wife Kimberly of Hurt, one sister Hilda Worley Ward as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mitch Etheridge. Burial will follow in Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at Colbert Moran Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
