Altavista……..Mark Daniel Hodnett, age 62 of Altavista died Friday, July 28, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born September 23, 1960 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Gwen Dawson Goggin of Hurt and the late Daniel Monroe Hodnett.  Mr. Hodnett was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church and he retired from BGF Industries.  He was also a mechanic; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Song Ye Arnold of the residence; one daughter, Jennifer Reynolds and husband, Jackson of Altavista; two brothers, Gary Hodnett of Hurt, and Jimmy Carr and wife, Laura of Richmond; four grandchildren, Makenzie Moon and husband, Jesse, Trinity Reynolds, Zoë Reynolds, and Jackson Reynolds; and one great-granddaughter, Lottie Mae Moon.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Latta Terry.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his wife, Song Ye Arnold, 1316 5th Street, Altavista, and at the residence of his mother, Gwen Dawson Goggin, 302 Darrell Lane, Hurt.
