Gretna………Mark Anthony Betterton, age 61 of Gretna passed away Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Centra Gretna Medical Center.

Born May 15, 1965 in Halifax County, he was a son of Linda Motley Betterton of Gretna and the late Paul Bailey Betterton. He was a mechanic and a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. Mark loved working on cars and spending time at Roxboro drag racing. He loved his children and was a good father to them, and a great soulmate to his life partner, Lynn.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his life partner of 28 years, Clarice Lynn Dalton of Gretna; two daughters, Taylor Betterton (Gentry Sligh) of Gretna and Harley Layne and husband, Logan of Rustburg; one son, Mark Paul Betterton (Chloe Ashby) of Gretna; one brother, Phillip Betterton and wife, Nancy of Lancaster, PA; one grandchild, Leah and another grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2026 at Mulberry Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Foster. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
