Gretna………Marjorie Shelton Taylor, age 89 of Gretna died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born June 25, 1932 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Beverly Cabell Shelton and Stella Daniel Shelton. She was predeceased by a brother, Paul Shelton; and one step-son, Edward Bennett Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was a home maker.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, spending time with family, and sleepovers with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Percy Bennett Taylor of the residence; one son, Roger Owen of Christiansburg; one daughter, Julie Francisco and husband, Bernie of Danville; one brother, Norman Shelton and wife, Shelby of Danville; a sister-in-law, Cindy Shelton of Danville; two grandchildren, Lt. Joseph Francisco, U.S.N. of Danville (stationed in Bangor, WA), and Claire Francisco (Ian Talbott) of Danville; three step-grandchildren, Commander Jeremy Taylor U.S.N. and wife, Angela of Mechanicsburg, PA, Kendall Coplen and husband, Brian of Desoto, MO, and Jim Taylor of Clarksville; and four step-great-grandchildren, Charlotte Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Andrew Taylor and Bennett Coplen.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at residence.
