Altavista……….Marion Mason Swain, age 84 of Altavista died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Seven Hills Hospice House in Lynchburg.
Born September 11, 1932 in Campbell County she was a daughter of the late Eugene Thomas Mason and Hattie Pribble Mason. She was predeceased by her husband, Cephas Board Swain; a son, Dennis Swain; four brothers, Eugene Arthur Mason, Charlie Ray Mason, Roy Lee Mason and Jimmy Mason; and two sisters, Ruby Austin and Margaret McDaniel. Mrs. Swain was a home maker. She loved flowers; and enjoyed reading the Bible, visiting with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
She is survived by her son, Larry Swain and his friend, Shane Schwaneke of Hurt; two grandchildren, April Swain and Tabitha Stone; and a great-grandson, Daniel Sims.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Green Lawn Cemetery by Pastor Tim Lane and Rev. Jim Critchley.
The family will receive friends at the residence of her son, Larry Swain, 3589 Grit Road, Hurt.
