Gretna…..Marie Davidson Midkiff, age 83 of Gretna, died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born June 19, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Gordon Woody Davidson and Berta Rigney Davidson. She was predeceased by her husband, James Reuben Midkiff; and a brother, Gordon Davidson, Jr. Mrs. Midkiff was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed helping people and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Midkiff of Danville and Charles Midkiff and wife, Lora of Gretna; three brothers, James Davidson of Chatham, Bobby Davidson and his wife, Nancy of Danville and Billy Davidson of Danville; one sister, Glenda Watson and her husband, Howell of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Erica, Terrell, Sarah, Charles, Jackson, Montana, and Clair; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. James Bullock. Burial will follow in Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
