Hurt…….Marian Irene Kidd Short, age 89 of Hurt died Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born January 28, 1933 in Campbell County, she was a daughter of the late Sidney Kidd and Lillie Mae Hall Kidd.  She was predeceased by a son, Elton Short, Jr.; a grandson, Michael Bibee; six brothers, Carter Kidd, Gilliam Kidd, Harrison Kidd, Willie Kidd, Edward Kidd, and Walter Kidd; and four sisters, Elizabeth Briles, Mary Compton, Janie Page, and Lillian Allen. Marian attended West End Church of Christ and she was a seamstress. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, and playing cards.

She is survived by one son, Gary Short and wife, Jeanette of Gretna; five daughters, Edith Kidd of Altavista, Ann Cline of Hurt, Linda Hailey of Evington, Brenda Bibee and husband Clarence of Hurt, and Debra Short of Hurt; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Altavista Memorial Park by Randy Parker, Minister.
