Marguerite (Mag) Mayhew

Gretna……….Marguerite (Mag) Pickeral Mayhew, age 84 of Gretna died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born June 2, 1928 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late, Morman Pickeral and Dellie Keesee Pickeral. She was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Nelson Mayhew, Sr. Mrs. Mayhew was an active member of West End Church of Christ where she kept the nursery for over 50 years. She retired after thirty-two years of service with General Electric. Mag enjoyed walking and visiting friends and family.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy M. Slayton and husband, Glenn of Blairs; one son, Nelson Mayhew, Jr. and wife, Ginny of Cabot, AR; five sisters, Aliese Creasy of Danville, Becky Turner of Gretna, Jean Ware of Providence, NC, Joyce Brumfield and husband, Calvin of Gretna, and Libby Hedrick of Altavista; two grandchildren, Laura Ellen Bryan and husband, Scott and David Nelson Mayhew; a special niece, Kathy Bryant; and close friends, Barbara and Ned Franklin and Lisa Curtis.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at West End Church of Christ by Randy Parker, Minister and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
