Gretna……..Margie Lou Vasser, age 82 of Gretna passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 27, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Noel Jenkins Vasser and Frances Myers Vasser.  She was predeceased by a brother, Aaron Vasser; and a nephew, Jeff Vasser.  Margie worked in accounting for the state of Virginia/VCU; and was a member of Summersett Baptist Church having served as church secretary for a number of years.

She is survived by one brother, Earl Vasser of Gretna; nieces and nephews, Rita Montgomery and husband, Todd, Gregory Vasser and wife, Nancy, Tim Vasser and wife, Betty, Scott Vasser and wife, Tonya, Allen Vasser and wife, Sherri and Kristie Winoker and husband, Travis; and a special friend, Ann Robinson.

Per her request there will be no public service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Summersett Baptist Church, P.O. Box 111, Gretna, VA 24557 or to Gretna Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 14, Gretna, VA 24557.
