Rustburg……….Margaret Burdette Wood, age 94 of Rustburg died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Autumn Care Health & Rehab in Altavista.
Born September 15, 1920 in West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Loomis Burdette and Pearly Simmerly Burdette. She was predeceased by her husband, William Albert Wood; three sons, Billy Wood, Ernest Wood and Joel Wood; two sisters, and four brothers. Mrs. Wood was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a nursing aid. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
She is survived by two sons, Curtis Wood and wife, Nancy of FL and David Wood and wife, Sharon of TX; one daughter, Danese Riddle and her husband, Phillip of VA; one brother, Shady Burdette of CA, 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jeff Chapman.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
