Chatham…..Margaret Wood Wells, age 85 of 725 Lark Drive, Chatham died Monday, November 4, 2013 at her residence.
Born April 25, 1928 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late John Nelson Wood and Margaret Worsham Wood. She was predeceased by one brother, Jack Wood; and one sister, Laura Ellen Wood. Mrs. Wells was a member of New Bethel Church of the Brethren for over sixty years; and was a retired seamstress with Bassett-Walker. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey Curtis Wells, Sr. of the residence; two sons, Charles Nelson Wells and his wife, Yvonne of Chatham, and Harvey Curtis Wells, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Chatham; one sister, Patricia Gray of Hardy; four grandchildren, Misty Marsh, Stephanie Bowling, Adrienne Wells, and Jill Wells; and one great-grandchild, Kelsey Bowling.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at New Bethel Church of the Brethren by Rev. Leo Johnson and Curtis English. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
