Gretna…….Margaret Tucker Davis, age 101 of Gretna, died Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Runk and Pratt Liberty Ridge in Lynchburg.

Born June 7, 1922 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late William Brace Tucker, Sr., and Elsie Moon Tucker.  She was predeceased by her husband, Esther Leathen Davis, Sr.; one son, Esther "Sonny" Davis, Jr; one daughter, Jean Atkinson; four brothers, W.B. Tucker, Jr, Henry Tucker, James "Jim" Tucker, and Paul "Bill" Tucker; and two predeceased sisters, Loter Coffey, and Inez Tucker.  Mrs. Davis was a member of Straightstone Baptist Church, and she retired from General Electric.  She loved to sew, especially embroidery.  She also enjoyed cooking, yardwork, sending cards, and helping others when in need.

She is survived by one son, Barry Davis and fiancée, Faye Newman of Gretna; one daughter, Patsy Hutcherson and husband, Kenneth of Gretna; two brothers, Malcolm "Buddy" Tucker and wife, Marie of Gretna, and Reuben Tucker and wife, Judy of Gretna; one sister, Jeannette Edwards and husband, Latane of Hurt; six grandchildren, Allen Atkinson and wife, JoEllen, Brian Davis and wife, Yong, Tim Davis and wife, Lucinda, Toni Rasmussen and husband, Jeffrey, Tonya Hutcherson, and Michael Bennett & wife, Danielle; six great-grandchildren, James Davis, Corey Atkinson, Gabriel Bennett, Michael Bennett, Jr., Cameron Bennett, and Gavin Bennett; and two great-great-grandchildren, Carlee Atkinson, and Paisley Ingram.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Straightstone Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
