Obituary

Pittsville……….Malcolm Hunt "Mickey" Witcher, age 66 of Pittsville died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born November 10, 1953 in Danville, he was a son of the late William Mack Witcher and Louella "Lady" Taylor Witcher.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Bennett Witcher and Larry Witcher.  Mr. Witcher worked in retail management for many years and worked at BGF Industries for 17 years.  Mr. Witcher was a member of Sheva Church of Christ and was ordained as a minister with the Church of Christ in 1992 and was the Minister at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.  He was a director with Mercy Partners Charity, and was known for his daily devotions on Facebook.  He enjoyed playing softball, and collecting baseball cards.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Wilfred Shoup Witcher of the residence; one son, Derek Daniel Witcher and wife, Melissa of Whitesburg, GA; two brothers, Ran Witcher and wife, Linda of Chatham, and Homer Witcher and wife, Therese of Daleville; one sister, Edith Gordon and husband, Wayne of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Corey Starks and wife, Bre, Kaytlyn Cochran and husband, Austin, and Gybson Witcher; and two great-grandchildren, Stella Starks, and Ember Cochran.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Gretna Elementary School by Dennis Tucker and Rev. Corey Starks. Burial will follow in the Witcher Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to, Mid-Atlantic Christian University, 715 N. Poindexter St. Elizabeth City, NC 27909 or Mercy Partners Post Drawer 458 Chatham, VA 24531.
