Hurt…..Madalene Rowland Saunders, age 85 of 1784 Grit Road, Hurt died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born June 26, 1927 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Walter Rowland and Lena Schwitzerlett Rowland. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Edward Saunders. Madalene was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the Lane Co. She enjoyed helping her husband on the farm and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 10, 2012 at Midway Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
