Hurt…….Mable Worley Barbour, age 94, of Hurt, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
Born December 7, 1922 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Orden Worley and Cora Shelton Worley. She was predeceased by her husband, Lorinza Acuff "Red" Barbour; and a brother, Harold Worley. Mrs. Barbour was a member of Greenbay Christian Church and retired from the Lane Company. She was a graduate of Climax High School. She enjoyed singing gospel music on WMNA radio and working with her flowers and plants.
She is survived by one son, Larry Barbour and wife, Tina of Altavista; one sister, Lorene St. John and husband, Roy of Hurt; one grandchild, Melissa Soto and husband, Rafael; one step grandchild, Dorinda Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Alexander Soto and Antonio Soto; and one step-great-grandchild, Tyler Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Lory Brafford, Minister and Elder Troy Simpson. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence, 217 Dogwood Lane, Hurt.
