Hurt……..Mabel Perkins Patterson, age 92 of Hurt died Friday, August 30, 2024 at her residence.

Born January 12, 1932 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late John William Perkins and Hattie Parson Perkins.  She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Wade Patterson; five brothers, Russell Perkins, Lee Perkins, Lloyd Perkins, Willie "Boots" Perkins and John Perkins; and one sister, Irene Mae Patterson.  Mrs. Patterson was a member of Spring Road Baptist Church. She was a farmer and a home maker.  She was a mother and babysitter to many of her family and friends.  She enjoyed watching television, bluegrass music, and taking care of her family. She was a very giving person who put everyone else first.

She is survived by two sons, David Patterson, Sr. of Gretna and Ronald Patterson, Sr. of Hurt; four grandchildren, Gina Kidd and husband, Phillip of Bedford, Ronald "R. W." Patterson, Jr. of Hurt, David Patterson, Jr. and wife, Emily of Vermont, and Mike Patterson and wife, Leikan of Gretna; nine great-grandchildren, Joseph Kidd, Kaylie Kidd, Liam Kidd, Colton Patterson, Landon Patterson, Jackson Patterson, Miley Patterson, Thomas Patterson, and Seth Patterson; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M, Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Spring Road Baptist Church by Pastor Ronnie Simpson and Rev Brian Faison.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, September 2, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
