Altavista…..Lula Jane Emerson, age 91 of Altavista died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born August 21, 1921 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Elizabeth Emerson Barrett. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Altavista and was a nannie. She enjoyed reading the Bible and sending cards to people.
She is survived by two sisters, Ruby B. Lovelace and Frances Barbour; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 4, 2013 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Altavista by Pastor Gary Shupe, Rev. Oral Puckett, and Rev. Jim Critchley. Burial will follow in the Simpson Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her cousin, Corrine Morris, 908 8th Street, Altavista.
