Gretna……Lucille Yeager Shelton, age 99 of Gretna died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her residence.

Born December 1, 1922 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Paul Revere Yeager and Sara Myers Yeager Plymale Rorer. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Neville Sydnor Shelton; an infant daughter; one grandson, James Sydnor Shelton; a daughter-in-law, Becky Shelton; two sons-in-law, Herman Hardy, and E.M. Lattimer; one brother, Bill Plymale; and two sisters, Brownie Yeager, and Polly Mitchell.  Mrs. Shelton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna where she served in many capacities, including choir member and Sunday School Teacher. She attended Phillips Business College and worked as a bookkeeper with Gretna Tractor and Implement Co. Mrs. Shelton was a Charter Member of Weed and Weep Garden Club and a member of the Virginia Cummins Women's Circle.

She is survived by one son, Paul S. Shelton of Gretna; two daughters, Carole S. Lattimer of Virginia Beach, and Betty S. Hardy of Gretna; nine grandchildren, Dr. Alan Lattimer (Kara), Dr. Brian Lattimer (Kristine), Charles Lattimer, Wendy Reese (Billy), Holly Boles, Jessica Rigney (Jonathan), Andrew Shelton, Brandon Shelton, and Rachel Shelton; 15  great-grandchildren, Kristin Solomon, Jason Reese (Kitrina), Preston Lattimer (Amy), Barrett Lattimer, Mary Kate Lattimer, Julia Lattimer, Miranda Lattimer, Mason Lattimer, Charlie Lattimer, Aidan Boles, Kaylynn Rigney, Noah Rigney, Alex Shelton, Izack Shelton, and Keileigh Shelton; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Gretna by Rev. Bob Ballance.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
