Gretna……….Loyd Woodrow Fox, age 73 of Gretna, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his residence.
Born October 21, 1943 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late John Fox and Ethel Smith Fox Clark. He was predeceased by a sister, Elsie Crews Tucker; and two brothers, James Fox and Percy Fox. Mr. Fox was a member at Open Bible Baptist Church and retired from Klopman after 32 years of service. Loyd was a member of Brushy Mountain Hunt Club. He enjoyed going to flea markets, fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by three sons, Glen Fox of Gretna, Tony Fox of Gretna, and John Fox of Gretna; one daughter, Marie Adkins and husband, Tim of Gretna; one brother, Oscar Fox of Hurt; two sisters, Shirley Lewis and husband, Tubby of Altavista and Doris Fogle of Altavista; four grandchildren, Randy Walshaw, Cody Adkins, Mason Fox and Maggie Fox; one great-grandchild, Elena Walshaw; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 11, 2016 at Open Bible Baptist Church by Pastor Tim Kyser and Pastor Kendell Smith. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Tim Adkins, 10893 Rockford School Road, Gretna.
