Louise Tuck Shelton

Raleigh, NC………Louise Tuck Shelton, age 96 of Raleigh, NC formerly of Gretna died Monday, March 7, 2016 at Sunrise at North Hills in Raleigh, NC.
Born May 29, 1919 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Morman F. Tuck and Sallie Hatchett Tuck. She was predeceased by her husband, Ollis "Monk" Nelson Shelton; a son-in-law, Jerry Midkiff; four brothers, Clyde Tuck, Ollie Tuck, Norwood Tuck and Dallas Tuck; and a sister, Doris Williamson. She was a former dental assistant for Dr. Richard Rucker, DDS. Mrs. Shelton was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna where she was a member of the WMU. Mrs. Shelton was also a member of the Gretna Garden Club and American Legion Post 230 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bridge and working with Share and Care.
She is survived by two daughters, Nell Meece and husband, Roy of Cary, NC and Patricia Midkiff of Raleigh, NC; two sisters, Lodema Hunt of Raleigh, NC and Jean Willis of Emporia; three grandchildren, Judd Meece and wife, Missy, Kevin Midkiff and wife, Megan and Jill Barnette and husband, Steve; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jonathan Hilliard. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
