Altavista……….Louise May King Emerson, age 86 of Altavista died Friday, January 5, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born January 15, 1931 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late William W. King and Mattie King. She was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow Emerson; five brothers, James King, Odell King, Wilbur King, Benford King and Thelbert "Buddy" King; and two sisters, Lena King and Mamie Eades. Mrs. Emerson attended Christian Life Church and was a home maker. She enjoyed camping, fishing, her dogs, gardening and traveling up on the parkway.
She is survived by four sons; Wayne Emerson, Mack Emerson, Woodrow Emerson, Jr. and Steve Emerson and wife, Michelle; one daughter, Linda E. Mason; one brother, Kenneth Swanson King; one sister, Bernice Moses; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
