Pittsville……Louise Juanita Saunders Brumfield, age 97 of Pittsville died Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Autumn Care of Altavista.

Born October 5, 1927 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Risque Craig Saunders and Myrtle Gay Divers Saunders.  She was predeceased by her husband, Carson Woodson Brumfield; one son, Jerry Brumfield; one daughter, Sharon Kay Norcutt; two brothers, Melvin Saunders and Hubert Saunders; and one sister, Jewell Rowland.  Mrs. Brumfield was a member of Summersett Baptist Church and she was a home maker.

She is survived by one son, Ken Brumfield of Chatham; one brother, Dale Saunders and wife, Peggy of Altavista; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews and Rev. Bobby Brumfield.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
