Hurt………Louella Irby Robertson, age 96 of Hurt passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2022 with family by her side.

Born November 16, 1926 in Pittsylvania County, she was one of ten children and the daughter of the late Luther "Luke" Irby and Annie Dalton Irby.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Fets Robertson; three brothers, Eugene Irby, William Irby, and Calvin Irby, Sr.; and five sisters, Beatrice Vedder, Sarah DeJarnette, Bessie Simpson, Katie Keatts and Kathleen Dalton.

There is history in her years, from logging at age 17 with her sister Bessie, to running a farm for over 70 years.  Well known for her strength, grit and endurance, but yet had a sweet gentleness.  She was one of the finest cooks around and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

A life well lived as the legacy she leaves behind.  She touched the lives of many and would say her greatest legacy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for she raised them with love and devotion.

She is survived by six children, Evelyn Wright (Euell), Shirley Hutcherson (Tommy), Jimmy Robertson (Becky), Roger Robertson (Donna), Chris Dalton (Ricky), and Vera Moore (Roger); one sister, Dottie Francis; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland and Rev. Greg Hedrick. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
