Obituary

Hurt…….Lottie Gibson Dalton, age 94 of Hurt died Monday, May 21, 2018 at Gretna Health & Rehab Center.

Born October 31, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew Gibson and Rosa Belle Short Gibson Worley.  She was also predeceased by her husband, David "Billy" Earnest Dalton, Jr.; one daughter, Fayola Dalton Talbott; and seven brothers, Andrew Gibson, Herbert Gibson, Acie Gibson, Noel Gibson, Harry Gibson, Charlie Gibson and Wilbur "Tiny" Gibson.  Mrs. Dalton was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church and was a home maker.  She enjoyed yard work, gardening, cooking, reading, playing bingo and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Haywood Dalton and wife, Barbara of Moneta and Gerald Dalton and wife, Bonnie of Pittsville; a son-in-law, Sidney Talbott of Hurt; five grandchildren, Jill Dalton, Leslie Runyon, Debbie Faris, Brian Dalton and April Birchfield; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield and Elder Raymond Goad.  Burial will follow at Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Bonnie Dalton.
