Gretna……….Alma Lorraine "Sissy" English Dalton, age 96 of Gretna died Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born April 15, 1926 in Chattaroy, WV, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Baxter English and Josephine Curry English.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Oscar Dalton; one daughter, Lisa Gay Dalton; two brothers, Elmer "Buddy" English and David English; one sister, Hilda Dalton; and one brother-in-law, Ellis "Jack" Dalton.  Mrs. Dalton was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and she was a home maker.

Lorraine loved God and she loved her family.  She was a fantastic cook, and an avid reader.  Her proudest moments were the ones spent with her granddaughter, Rose Dalton.  Lorraine called Rose "Precious" and Rose truly was her most precious asset.  She was a loyal wife, a loving mother, and she was a faithful and joyful Christian.  She even flew in helicopters a few times to show everyone that it was no big deal.  Sycamore's loss is heaven's gain.

She is survived by one son, Mark Dalton of Penhook; one sister, Carol Ann Moss of Gretna; and one granddaughter, Rose Dalton of Penhook.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. Heath Lloyd.
