Gretna…….Loretta Sawyer Jones, age 83 of Gretna died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Centra Gretna Medical Center.
Born August 11, 1933 in North Carolina she was a daughter of the late Miller Sawyer and Victoria Anderson Sawyer. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert Eve Jones; a daughter, Martha Robertson; a brother, Alvin Sawyer; and a sister, Amanda Self. Mrs. Jones was a home maker. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gospel music and taking care of her family.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Lee Jones and wife, Ann of Gretna and Harold Sonny Jones of Gretna; one daughter, Shirley Pendergrass of Gretna; one brother, Danny Lee Sawyer; two sisters, Cleo Strauss and husband, Leo and JoAnn Brendle; six grandchildren, Sally Shelton, Bobby Lee Pendergrass, Phillip Lynn Pendergrass, Jenny Garrett, Wanda Rawlings, and Stevy Robertson; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery by Rev. Bobby Brumfield.
