Hurt……..Lorene Worley St. John, age 97 of Hurt died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at her residence.

Born June 6, 1927 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Orden Worley and Cora Shelton Worley.  She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Ernest St. John; one brother, Harold Worley; and one sister, Mabel Barbour.  Mrs. St. John was a member of Greenbay Christian Church and she was a retired plant manager with Vista Apparel.  She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary Chapter 46; and she enjoyed painting, making baskets and cooking for her family.

She is survived by one son, Roy St. John, Jr. (Claudia) of Hurt; one daughter, Janet Wanless (Mike) of Chatham; one granddaughter, Jessica Macari (Ariel) of Raleigh, NC; and two step-great-grandchildren, Layla and Eli. .

Graveside services will be conducted 9:00 a.m. Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
