Lois Doss Tucker

Long Island……….Lois Doss Tucker, age 75 of Long Island went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born March 31, 1941 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Henry Thomas Doss and Toy Owen Doss. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Kathy Dalton and a son, Melvin Field Dalton, Jr. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Straightstone Baptist Church and was co-owner of Tucker Meat Processing. She enjoyed the beach, yard sales, and gardening, especially flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Paul "Bill" Tucker of the residence; one daughter, Kathrine Dalton Thomas and her husband, Doug of Lynchburg; two step-daughters, Pamela Jo Tucker of Martinsville and Patti Tucker Hill and husband Roy of Nathalie; three sisters, Doris Giles and husband, Anderson of Lynch Station, Christine Saunders and husband, Carroll of Gretna and Fay Tanksley and husband, James of Keeling; five grandchildren, Jeffery Dean Taylor, Jr. & wife, Jessica, Corey Lee Silby, Victoria Forlines, Orey Thomas Hill and wife Samantha, and Noah Patrick Hill; great-grandchildren, Nathan Dean Taylor, Hunter Blake Silby, Josh Mattox, Mackenzie Seay; Andrew "Kangaroo" Hodge a loyal friend and employee; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Straightstone Baptist Church by Pastor Jason Mauk and Pastor David Bell. Burial will follow in the Straightstone Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Roy Hill, 1213 Cody Road, Nathalie.
The family has a special thank you to Dr. John MacNeill, her hospice nurses, Lisa, Millie, Bree and Marilyn and the staff at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
