Gretna…..Linda Gibson Peak, age 68 of Gretna died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg.
Born March 18, 1943 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of Alese Adkins Gibson of Chatham and the late Moses Dillard Gibson. She was predeceased by her husband, James Baxter Peak; and one brother, Dillard Gibson. She was employed by BGF. Mrs. Peak enjoyed puzzle books, watching TV, and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother she is survived by one daughter, Roxanne Bennett and her fiancé, Wayne Krantz of Hurt; two brothers, Darrell Gibson and his wife, Velma of Chatham, and Roger Gibson and his wife, Barbara of Pamplin; two sisters, Stella Parker and her husband, Ray of Gretna, and Christine Walden of Gretna; and three grandchildren, Samantha Bennett and her fiancé, Shane Hedrick of Gretna, Adam Bennett of Hurt, and Colby Krantz of Hurt.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. David Wayne Prillaman. Burial will follow in the Adkins Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, November 21, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her sister, Stella Parker, 523 North Main Street, Gretna.
